The novels by Jules Verne have been a rich source of inspiration for composers over the years. I have taken elements of his epic work Around the World in Eighty Days as the outline for a series of adventures recorded in an imaginary diary by the hero of the story, Phileas Fogg.

Darkwood was commissioned in 2012 by Neil Ashcroft a life long member of Blackley Brass Band and was presented to the band in recognition of their 75th Anniversary.

World Tour

National Regionals 4th Section piece 2018. This work was commissioned in 2006 by Besses o’ th’ Barn Band to mark the centenary of its 1906 World Tour, the first ever by a brass band.
