Chris Allen

Chris began his music journey through school as well as brass bands having started playing tenor horn when he was 7 or 8. From his home near Melton Mowbray he travelled a little to play with Hathern Band, at present he plays solo horn with the University of Birmingham brass band. He also enjoys playing piano and also singing in various University choirs. Gaining an undergraduate degree in Music at University of Birmingham where he is now pursuing a Masters in Advanced Instrumental/Vocal Composition and hoping to continue composing.

He was winner of the 2019 University of Birmingham composition contest and the inaugural 2020 Durham University Brass Band Composition Competition with a brass band pieces.
